I have decided on which story. This one has been knocking me in the head for at least five years...so Iapos;d say itapos;s time.
Born on during the eclipse of the Sun by the larger of the planetapos;s two moons, a female rises to assume the throne as Regent of Belan. There has never been a female Regent before, and many do not like it. Yet there are also many who hate the ruling family of Belan for the cruel excesses of her father and brother.
There is one other person who carries the Blood of Belan in his body. That is the infant son of her deceased twin. The boyapos;s mother knew well the cruelty of her husband and fears his sister even more. She knows the death of her son will allow the Regent to keep her throne.
Her request to take her son and leave the country is denied by the Regent. She may leave, but the son must remain behind. She will not leave her son. Knowing that she cannot save her son, she will at least die with him.
Rebel factions are building in the countryside. Who will side with the female Regent. Who will side with the infant male heir and his mother?
How do you trust when the stakes are this high? Fear, gossip and perceptions keep these women from realizing that they want the same thing. And what about their hearts? Will either be able to stop listening with their head and start listening with their heart?
