Some of you know that on Mondays, my job is to sit up front at the receptionist desk all day and answer phones for the various companies that rent space from us. Some of you also know that I hate doing this job more than any other part of my job, and here is one reason why.

How do people call someone up and not know what they want? And if they know they are not mentally able to come up with "I would like to speak to a lawyer," on the fly, why donapos;t they practice a few times beforehand? Christ

We just got our band music for the second semester of fall semester and weapos;re playing...Holstapos;s 2nd Suite.� Big whoop, right?� But no really, itapos;s cool b/c Iapos;ve never performed it on flute - just read it.� The only time Iapos;ve performed it was on bassoon in high school.� Actually, there are fond memories b/c I played bassoon and sat by this guy who played tuba who I had this huge crush on...and then at the end of the last movement I switched to piccolo and thereapos;s this piccolo tuba duet.� It just makes me smile, and chuckle on the inside.� Quite humorous I think.� Also, the third movement, if youapos;re not familiar is called "Song of the Blacksmith" and it calls for an anvil.� First of all, today it was funny because our "anvil" was what looked like this strip of metal, and Dr. P said that it was the girliest sounding blacksmith heapos;d ever heard.� Also I�loved his mental pictures he gave us of this movement - not too fast, like chipping at a scuplture, but a huge, sweaty man hitting an anvil�

But the other funny thing is also nostalgic - I donapos;t what "sophisticated" bands usually use for anvils, but since I was basically from Hick-ville, we had a real one.� And in dress rehearsal, the head of the mallet flew off and hit a trombone player in the back of the head� And this was a metal mallet� I know it shouldnapos;t be, but itapos;s still funny to me to this day...

I received this the other day in an email from my Mama, who got it from my Aunt. Who she got it from, I donapos;t know, it has been sent through out the internet to get the information to as many people as possible. It is a highly interesting read, I ask you all to read it and think about it. I was pretty freaked out after I finished and started praying that God keep the USA safe and that everything happens be for His Glory and in His Will. As I was listening to a news program last night, I watched in horror as Barack Obama made the statement with pride. . .apos;we are no longer a Christian nation; we are now a nation of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, . . .apos; As with so many other statements Iapos;ve heard him (and his wife) make, I never thought Iapos;d see the day that Iapos;d hear something like that from a presidential candidate in this nation. To think our forefathers fought and died for the right for our nation to be a Christian nation--and to have this man say with pride that we are no longer that. How far this nation has come from what our founding fathers intended it to be.

I hope that each of you will do what Iapos;m doing now--send your concerns, written simply and sincerely, to the Christians on your email list. With Godapos;s help, and He is still in control of this nation and all else, we can show this man and the world in November that we are, indeed, still a Christian nation

I have decided on which story. This one has been knocking me in the head for at least five years...so Iapos;d say itapos;s time.

The Blood of Belan


Born on during the eclipse of the Sun by the larger of the planetapos;s two moons, a female rises to assume the throne as Regent of Belan. There has never been a female Regent before, and many do not like it. Yet there are also many who hate the ruling family of Belan for the cruel excesses of her father and brother.

There is one other person who carries the Blood of Belan in his body. That is the infant son of her deceased twin. The boyapos;s mother knew well the cruelty of her husband and fears his sister even more. She knows the death of her son will allow the Regent to keep her throne.

Her request to take her son and leave the country is denied by the Regent. She may leave, but the son must remain behind. She will not leave her son. Knowing that she cannot save her son, she will at least die with him.

Rebel factions are building in the countryside. Who will side with the female Regent. Who will side with the infant male heir and his mother?

How do you trust when the stakes are this high? Fear, gossip and perceptions keep these women from realizing that they want the same thing. And what about their hearts? Will either be able to stop listening with their head and start listening with their heart?
